[ What, murder-y and revenge-y isn't the perfect combination? Killua thinks it's pretty legit. ]

How much trouble could we get in? [ Before Leorio can give the obvious answer, Killua forges on ahead. ] Anyway, I'm gonna come over. Have something for me to eat waiting, okay? I'm super hungry.

[You know normally he would yell at him and call him a freeloader, but. Kid just lost his best friend to the Matrix, he'll roll with it.]

Yeah yeah. Will you even eat anything that isn't pure sugar?

[ And with that helpful bit of reassurance, Killua hangs up on Leorio.

Ten minutes later, there's a knock on Leorio's door.

It's Killua, of course. Killua and five little robot friends. Surprise! ]

[yeah that helps so much thanks Killua. Leorio is left to scoot into his kitchen and figure out what he can make in the time it takes for him to come over. What the hell does he even have? Pasta? Sure, why not. Everyone likes pasta!! He's just turning the heat off the stove when the knock on the door comes.] Uh, hang on!

[just gonna quickly move these off the heat before he answers the door and - stares a bit, because why are there animals. He can't tell they're robots at first glance]

Hey, Killua! What's this, did they make you a petting zoo keeper or something?

Nope. [ As if they could make him do something lame like that. No, instead, he proclaims, cheerily: ] I brought them for you. I figured you'd be lonely.

[ Isn't he a kind, thoughtful friend? Who is totally not trying to unload an unwanted bunch of robot companions on someone. Why, Killua would never do that. ]

Right. I appreciate a housewarming gift as much as the next guy, but a bunch of animals? I just got here, I can't afford to feed em'.

[... They're all going to get cold standing out there though, and so will the food. He sighs resignedly]

We can talk about it inside, come on. I made pasta!

Wow, you cooked? I didn't know you could.

[ Considering the sushi disaster and everything... He probably doesn't have to sound quite so insulting about it, but, well. It's Killua.

He and the menagerie troop in and immediately take up as much space as possible. Killua flops down on the couch and stretches out. ]

They're robots, you know. You don't have to feed them.

Eh. I can boil water, that's good enough for a lot of things!

[He looks around at the adorable robot army, still skeptical... it only just registered what he said.]

Wait... Huh?

[what do you do with robot pets why is this a thing. also, what kind of critters are we looking at here.]

Jeez, I know even less about robots than regular pets. I couldn't tell at all...

[you kids and your newfangled technology!! He casts another uncertain glance at them before going to get plates for the food]

[ There's a couple normal pets, a cat and a dog. And then a few that might have wandered out of a forest to be in a Disney movie: a squirrel, a rabbit, and a bird. And then there's the last two. Even Killua isn't quite sure what kinds of animals they are, but boy do they have a lot of weird appendages and tentacles and eyestalks. ]

Great, you need to catch up with how this place works, anyway, they'll be perfect practice. All you need to know is they don't like it when you go after them with a screwdriver.

[ Says Killua, as though speaking from experience. ]

[This assortment would almost not be creepy if it weren't for the last two. But no, he's still unsure, and it's hard to even argue it since it was so unexpected. And that note isn't lost on him.]

What did you do?

[After scooping up some pasta and sauce onto the plate, he sets it down for Killua and one for himself]

[ Killua contrives to look innocent as he sits down at the table. He really does, it's just that, well. Leorio knows him. The act probably doesn't work so well. ]

I was totally just trying to fix one of them. Gon got mad, though.

... Define "fix," Killua. Even I can tell they're not broken, you know?

They were being annoying. [ He says reasonably. So reasonably. ] So I was trying to fix them.

[ By taking them apart... ]

[So he admits they're annoying.... Leorio takes a seat of his own, a bit resignedly.]

All right, all right, I get it. They're a pain in the ass, but they're actually Gon's, right?

[which of course means Killua can't just get rid of them. Though Leorio still thinks he should take care of them on his own.]

That's right!

[ He stabs his fork into the pasta to vent his frustration. ]

That idiot up and vanished and left me with all of these!

[ Which means of course that he can't get rid of them. What if Gon comes back? He'd be mad.

And maybe, just maybe, Killua's the tiniest bit sentimental about them, what with them belonging to Gon and all. ]
